Learning Objectives:
In this session, teens carry out their project plan, determine how they’ll evaluate the project’s success, and decide how to celebrate their accomplishments.
Tips to Enhance Session 11:
- Distribute the Promoting Your Service Project (PDF) handout to your students. The tips can help teens gain attention in the news media and raise community awareness for their project.
- Remember to encourage your students, ask them to reflect on and evaluate their service project, and then celebrate their success!
Community Resource People:
While many people can bring expertise to your students’ service-learning project, a community resource person could be project- specific. However, you can bring in parents or other motivating adults to help complete a community project.
If you do bring in a community resource person with specific expertise, remember to provide him or her with the session materials at least one week before he or she will participate in the project.
