Learning Objectives:
In this session, teens will analyze the causes and impact of teen drug dealing. They will consider what they can do to help solve this problem, both as individuals and as members of their community.
Tips to Enhance Session 21:-
Discuss the Model Drug Dealer Liability Act with students after Step D. Ask students if the provisions of the act could help solve the problem in Lake Place. Have students explain why the Model Drug Dealer Liability Act would or would not change their community for the better.

Just Think Twice: A teen site that provides information about specific drugs, the harm they cause, and the victims of drug crime. Review and share the costs to society with your students during Step D.

U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Trafficking Penalties: Provides current judicial penalties for drug dealing.
Community Resource People:-
Police officer: Is aware of the prevalence of drug-related crime in the community, and can teach students about the dangers of drug use, possession, and dealing.
Remember to give the community resource person the session materials at least one week before he or she will participate in your class.
Service-Learning Project Ideas:-
Short Project: Students can research the Controlled Substances Act, the Model Drug Dealer Liability Act, or other drug possession/trafficking-related legislation, and write a letter to their state legislator about the drug problem in their community and how the provisions of the legislation help the community. If students don’t believe that the legislation is helpful, they can write letters suggesting other ways to solve their community’s drug problem.

Medium-Length Project: Students can brainstorm and create a web-based awareness campaign to help teach their peers about the many consequences of drug use, possession, and dealing.

Long Project: Students can use the “neighborhood commission recommendations" listed in Step D as their service project. Students can petition the community to help implement one of their recommendations, which will help the community learn what needs to be done to eradicate drug dealing in their area.
