Mortgage Fraud Virtual Conference
Mortgage Fraud Virtual Conference
NCPC launched its first-ever Mortgage Fraud Virtual Conference on April 10, 2013, which became a great success and partnership experience with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the Office for Victims of Crimes (OVC). The conference was designed to teach about mortgage fraud, prevention measures, and resources for victims. The conference provided information for victim service providers and fraud counselors to teach them how to most effectively assist those who come to them for help. The all-day virtual conference included ten webcast sessions with mortgage fraud experts from all across the country. There was also a live Q&A opportunity within the virtual networking lounge with four of the session speakers throughout the day. The resource center (online library) offered downloadable files, including the webcast presentations for virtual attendees to access.
The conference featured prominent speakers, including Kristen Mahoney (BJA), Joye Frost (OVC), Erick Seik (Hope Now), Michael Stolworthy (HUD-OIG), Barbara Floyd Jones (NeighborWorks), David Pendle (National District Attorneys Association), Diane Cipollone (National Fair Housing Alliance), James Foley (National White Collar Crime Center), Christa Lynn Greco (FBI), Rene Febles (Federal Housing Finance Agency), and NCPC’s CEO Ann M. Harkins. The conference also welcomed a wide-range of attendees that included law enforcement, realtors, current and potential homebuyers, and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) counselors from all across the country.
