Crime Safety for Seniors
A Crime Safety for Residents seminar and cookout were held on June 15. Officers from the Roanoke City Police attended. Follow-up will incude distribution of packets/tools. This community consists of 100 Section 8 subsidized housing units for seniors and disabled persons.

Celebrate Safe Communities Crime Prevention Event
A fun community educational event will be held in association with the Super Target store and other local businesses. The event will feature displays and vehicles from the police and fire departments, face painting, and exhibits by local organizations. The event will take place on Saturday, October 15, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., at the Super Target store, which is located off Route 28 at 9900 Sowder Village Square, Manassas.

Emergency Preparedness
A panel discussion with local experts will focus on how to prepare for large-scale urban emergencies, including natural disasters. Other potential threats will also be discussed.
