Bicycle Fest 2011
The First Christian Church of North Kansas City is sponsoring a Bicycle Fest and Grand Prix Race. The event is scheduled for Sunday, October 16, 12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., rain date October 23. It is Ride Your Bike to School Month at North Kansas City High School, just down the street, and it is also Community Safety Month, so the organizers wanted to combine the events, as North Kansas City has many bike riders of all ages. The event will include a hot dog lunch, activities booths, a drag race, an awards procession to Wheel Park for the Grand Prix race, and an awards/closing ceremony. The organizers hope to present the following booths: registration and information booth, McGruff bike safety booth, Denta-Kid-booth, North Kansas City Hospital safety booth, a safety check booth for bikes and helmets, a bike licensing booth, a henna tatoos and face painting booth, and a bike decorating booth. There will also be a decorated bike show, a vintage bike show, a custom bike show, and a stunt rider event.
