Omaha Police Department Cops and Bobbers

A fishing event for community youth, ages 8 -12, to build better community/police relationships.

Omaha Police Department is hosting its first annual Cops and Bobbers, Sunday, October 17, 1-4 p.m. Omaha, Nebraska. This event is an effort to foster positive relationships between the Omaha Police Department and area youth. Officers and community representatives are volunteering and have partnered with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to fill a local lagoon with trout and provide fishing equipment for 100 youth.  One of the community partners, Eastern Nebraska Community Action Program is providing transportation to the event. Members of OPD's horse patrol, helicopter, and ERU (Emergency Response Unit) will be available for the youth ast well. There will also be a presentation on bullying.
