GAIN (Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods) is an annual event in cooperation with "Celebrate Safe Comunities" where citizens, public & private institutions, and businesses invest in the power of prevention and work together to make the community stronger & safer.  The purpose of GAIN is to heighten crime awareness, generate support and partipation in local anti-crime efforts, and build community relations.  GAIN is the result of a joint effort between a diverse group of government and community driven organizations across the entire state of Arizona.

Although citizens are encouraged to host an event any time during the month of October (National Crime Prevention month), the Gilbert Police Department has declared October 16, 2010 as their "official" GAIN Day.  Upon request, a representative from the police department will visit each registered GAIN event.
