Youth will explore the differences between diversity, stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination and will learn to recognize stereotyping and the impact it can have. Youth will also examine the causes of hate crimes and consider ways to help reduce racism and hate crimes.

Youth will choose a specific problem in their community and consider different ways to address the problem. Youth will set goals for their project, identify materials, services, people or funds needed to complete the project and how to evaluate the project’s success. Working together, youth will decide on who will do what tasks and make a plan for thanking and rewarding all who participated in the project.
