Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods (Gilbert, AZ)

To generate increased participation in neighborhood block watch programs and other crime prevention activities in neighborhoods, local law enforcement agencies and Target are joining forces to sponsor G.A.I.N. – Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods.

G.A.I.N. is designed to:
• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
• Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
• Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The G.A.I.N. program, sponsored by Target, is held throughout the state during the month of October, which is also National Crime Prevention Month. Although citizens are encouraged to host an event anytime during the month of October, the Gilbert Police Department has declared October 19 as the official G.A.I.N. Day. On this day, the Police Department will travel to several registered G.A.I.N. events.
