Description: Hawaii's Celebrate Safe Communities Day is being held in conjunction with the Leeward Discovery Fair at the Leeward Community College (LCC) in Pearl City. There will be interactive exhibits on financial fraud, emergency preparedness and home safety; along with canine demonstrations, interactive science activities, and more! Local food booths will also be on hand, along with food prepared by LCC's culinary students. Presentations on synthetic drugs, butane honey oil, prescription drug misuse, Medicare and securities fraud also will be conducted. In addition, Hawaii Medication Take Back Program, a prescription drug take back effort by the State Narcotics Enforcement Division will be there to collect expired on unused prescription medications. Finally, the Kupuna (senior) ID and Keiki (child) ID will be provided by the Honolulu Police Department and Hickam Federal Credit Union. For more information, go to:
