West Valley City plans to hold events in recognition of Celebrate Safe Communities Month in conjunction with events planned to recognize National Crime Prevention Month, National Domestic Violence Month and National Fire Prevention Week. Several safety fairs will be held throughout the City including City owned facilities, one of which is a Halloween Safety Fair which targets youth and families that participate in City sponsored after school programs.  The City also sponsors/hosts the Utah Council for Crime Prevention's annual Power of Prevention Conference with attendees from all corners of the state and neighboring states.  The conference reaches out to law enforcement, crime prevention specialists, volunteers, parents, PTA members, and school administrators.  This is the City's first year participating in the Celebrate Safe Communities campaign, we hope to learn and grow our efforts and outreach in future years.
