Red Lake Nation Celebrating Safe Communities

Project Safe Neighborhoods, Community Boards, Volunteers, Patrols, and businesses have come together to plan events for Crime Prevention Month

Red Lake Project Safe Neighborhoods spearheaded the organization of a Safe Communities Planning Committee.  The out come was 13 subcomittees including Red Lake School District, Boys & Girls Club, Forestry, Chemical Health, Women's Shelter, Community Volunteers, 4 District Boards, Concerned Grandmas Group, Law Enforcement, Seven Clans Wellbriety Coalition, and Ponemah Outpatient all of whom worked on crime prevention events & activities throughout the month of October.  Some events included Circle Pine's Clean-up Day, Redby Fall Festival, Halloween Safety Potluck, etc.  This Safe Communities Planning Committee has committed to meeting quarterly to continue crime prevention efforts throughout the Red Lake Reservation in Northern MN.
