Longmont Community Safety Day 2010

Community Safety Day at Twin Peaks Mall on Sat., Oct. 30th featuring safety information for youth and adults.

Business owners, Children, Community volunteers, Local government agency officials (other than public safety), Local news media, Members of civic organizations, Parents, Representatives of public safety agencies besides law enforcement (fire, emergency services, emergency planning/management), Senior citizens, Teens, Watch groups (Block, Neighborhood, Business), Youth-serving organizations (B&G Clubs, YMCA, etc.)

The first annual 2010 Longmont Community Saftety Day  will be held at the Twin Peaks Mall on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010 from 4pm to 8pm. This event will feature interactive safety presentations by the Longmont Police Department and the Longmont Fire Deparmtment for all ages. 

The Longmont Police Deparmtment will feature police officers working with children and teens on "Safe Halloween Trick or Treating" as well as pedestrian safety, distracted driving presentations, and "Fatal Vision" DUI simulator goggle activities.  LPD will also have staff presenting Neighborhood Watch and Crime Free Multi Housing programs. 

The Longmont Fire Department will feature fire staff working with all age groups on fire prevention activities including smoke alarms, child car seats, and senior safety tips.  Boulder Coutny non profit organizantions will also present safety messages for children, teens, and adults. 

 Colorado Life Trak volunteers will present information about this life saving tracking program for adults and chldren who tend to wander and cannot communicate thier name or address due to dementia or other disablities.  Sign up information will be available.
