Hermiston celebrates Safe Communities

Working with community partners to celebrate Safe Communities with events at local businesses.

The Hermiston Police Department, Safe Communities committee from the Greater Hermiston Area Wellness Coaltion and their local Wal-mart will be facilitating an event October 28th, 4-8pm to meet with children and their parents about pedestrian and traffic safety, using the Halloween celebrations to bring attention to its importance and priority.  Each participating child will receive stickers and a reflective safety Halloween treat bag.   The Crime Prevention Officer will also be providing Child ID fingerprint kits for parents.  Throughout the month of October, the Hermiston Police Crime Prevention Officer will be working with Hermiston Safe Communities and Safe Kids to promote safety and car seat proper installation and use of safety restraints.
