Driving Park community will celebrate its 1st Annual North Kelton Ave. 2010 Angel's Night Out Halloween Street Patrol. Residents of Kelton Ave. will stand together for Angel's Night Out 2010, October 29-31. The Angel's Night Patrol Unit will ask neighbors to turn on their porch lights and watch over their street, adpot an abandoned or vacant property, watch over the children while they participate in the celebration of Halloween. Volunteer Teams of 2 or more people will be assigned to patrol a specific block, by foot and by vehicle from 6 p.m. to midnight on October 29, 30, and 31. Volunteers will be encourgaed to be alert and to watch over our children and to watch for any unusual activity on their assigned block during the 3 day Halloween period. Volunteers will be asked to adopt a vacant and/or abandoned property in their assigned block from 6 p.m. to midnight during the 3 day period. All residents, businesses, and churches in the targeted area will be asked to turn on their porch lights from dusk till dawn during the 3 day period. Volunteers perform specific duties such as handling dispatch calls. Volunteers, residents and businesses will be asked to display or wear an orange ribbon to show they care. We will ask neighbors to enforce curfew for juveniles under 18 during the 3 day period. We also advertise other safe Halloween activities that are going on in the community. There will aslo be a Babyween Party with lots of fun activites, snacks and games for children under 5 years of age. We plan to ask Columbus Police Officers to assist us for these 3 days.
