Business owners, Children, College or university student, staff, or faculty, Community volunteers, Homeowner or neighborhood associations, K-12 school faculty or administrators, Local elected officials, Local government agency officials (other than public safety), Local news media, Members of civic organizations, Military service members and their families, Parents, Representatives of public safety agencies besides law enforcement (fire, emergency services, emergency planning/management), Senior citizens, Teens, Watch groups (Block, Neighborhood, Business), Youth-serving organizations (B&G Clubs, YMCA, etc.)

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) - Enterprise Area Command (EAC) created this event to give information to parents/guardians on how to help keep their children involved, safe and off the streets during the summer months. The event spotlights gearing up for summer, for our area children, parents/guardians, seniors and Neighborhood Watch participants and most of all to have some fun! The area Crime Prevention Specialist will provide a presentation on prevention & awareness about the increase of both Burglaries and Robberies during the summer months. The Fire Department will also be providing a presentation on pool/water safety and heat safety for the upcoming summer months here in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our hope is to provide all parents/guardians with a “one stop shop” to learn about local summertime camps and programs to keep our children safe. Here in Southern Nevada, prevention education on heat/pool/water related injuries/deaths is crucial in keeping our children and families safe during our 100 plus degree summer months. LVMPD-EAC’s “SUMMER FUN & SAFETY NIGHT” event will be held on Thursday, May 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Desert Breeze Park Community Center http://www.accessclarkcounty.com/depts/parks/locations/Pages/parks-desert-breeze.aspx at Spring Mountain and Durango (8275 Spring Mountain Rd. Las Vegas, Nevada) There will be numerous hands-on demonstrations and information for both children and parents about each camp or program listed below. Sign up for these very exciting summer activities will be available during this event. Additionally, there will be plenty of food on hand as well as crime prevention and personal safety presentations.
