Amesbury Crime Prevention Month

The Amesbury Police Department will be hosting several crime prevention & community policing initiatives during the month of October to celebrate safe communities.

Business owners, Children, College or university student, staff, or faculty, Community volunteers, Homeowner or neighborhood associations, K-12 school faculty or administrators, Local elected officials, Local government agency officials (other than public safety), Local news media, Members of civic organizations, Military service members and their families, Parents, Representatives of public safety agencies besides law enforcement (fire, emergency services, emergency planning/management), Senior citizens, Teens, Watch groups (Block, Neighborhood, Business), Youth-serving organizations (B&G Clubs, YMCA, etc.)

 

      The Amesbury Police Department will be working with various community groups during the month of October to make Amesbury a safer and better community. Plans are still being finalized but will be posted on our web site, www.amesburyma.gov as soon as possible. Watch for details on the Coffee with the Cops hour at the Senior Center, the Welcome Back to School Safety Day and Fire Department Open House. Be sure to check out the "Watchwords" column each week in the Amesbury News. The column has been written by Crime Prevention Officer Tom Hanshaw since July 1996 and features safety tips, crime prevention material and information about community happenings and civic efforts.
