Salem Police Department Halloween Dress Rehearsal

The Salem Police Department Crime Prevention Unit will host its Fifth Annual Halloween Dress Rehearsal. The goal of the event is to ensure costume safety. Children and their parents will dress up in their Haloween costumes and have them evaluated for safety hazards such as such as low visibility (specifically the reflectivity of the costume and visual impairments caused by masks or wigs)  and costume fit (length as a tripping hazard). Glowlights, reflective tape, and fluorescent bracelets will be provided to help increase costume visibility. Police officers will review pedestrian and traffic safety. Local vendors will attend and provide safety giveaways, such as flashlights and treats.
