Forsyth County Celebrates Safe Communities With a Safety Day
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office has partnered with Home Depot to host the First Annual Celebrate Safe Communities Community Safety Fair on Saturday, October 1, 9:00 a.m. - Noon. At 9:00 a.m., children ages 5-12 will participate in Home Depot's Kids' Workshop to build a craft and receive a free Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin, and certificate of achievement. Following the workshop, vehicles and equipment from the Sheriff's Office, Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, Georgia State Patrol, and other agencies will be on display in Home Depot's parking lot. Representatives from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, Forsyth County's Citizens' Corps Council, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Emergency Management Agency, Fire Department, Seniors And Lawmen Together (SALT), Domestic Violence Task Force, and other agencies will be on hand to discuss their various community safety programs and how residents can get involved. Neighborhood Watch liaisons will be on hand to discuss the benefits of implementing the program in neighborhoods, and Citizens' Law Enforcement Academy (CLEA) graduates will recruit for the next class. All residents of Forsyth County will be invited via the local newspaper, radio, Sheriff's Office newsletters, website, Facebook, Twitter, and email distribution lists. Fliers will be posted throughout the county and emailed to all county employees, Neighborhood Watch neighborhoods, businesses that belong to Business Watch, Construction Watch builders, and CERT, SALT, and CLEA members.
