The 2011 Heath and Safety Expo will offer an opportunity for area businesses to team up with the local policing unit and provide the community with vital health and safety information in a family-oriented atmosphere. The policing unit will provide information on home and business safety and DARE. There will be radKIDS demonstrations and CPR training, all free to the community, at Ludovichi Park.

National Night Out in Naples
The comminity and local law enforcement will team up and stand together against crime at a National Night Out event. A lemonade stand will be set up on the corner and crime prevention information and giveaways will be available. Deputies will grill hot dogs for residents of the community.

Fun for Everyone Fall Festival
The streets in five Neighborhood Watch areas will be beautified. Afterwards, there will be hot dogs and chips, hay rides, pony rides, a bounce house, and other activities for families, all free of charge.

The Palm Springs Police Department will participate in a community safety fair on October 1. The Home Depot, located at 4241 Lake Worth Road, is hosting a fire safety event. The police department will provide information and resources on crime prevention, child safety, and traffic and bicycle safety.

Operation Brain Freeze
The Edgewater Police Department, with the generous cooperation of Frosty King Creamery, is pleased to announce an exciting partnership aimed at keeping children safe. The police department will be on the lookout for children wearing bicycle helmets as they ride their bicyles or scooters or go skate boarding or rolller skating during the busy summer season. Children wearing properly fitting helmets will be eligible for a free ice cream cone from Frosty King Creamery. Keeping safe has never been this easy. McGruff's 31st Birthday
A birthday celebration for McGruff the Crime Dog will take place place on July 13, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. A double inflatable water slide and pool have been rented and will be placed in the grassy area in the courtyard of the buildings. Deputy Coleman of the Neighborhood Crime Watch Program will be present to supervise the event.

Miami's National Night Out Against Crime
The 28th Annual National Night Out celebration is a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the City of Miami Police Department. The event will be held on Tuesday, August 2, at Bayfront Park. National Night Out is designed to:heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and generate support for local crime watch programs. Victory Baptist Church Fall Festival
Each year Victory Baptist Church holds a fall festival for young children and teens. It is free, although a small donation is requested for food items. The church hopes to have McGruff the Crime Dog present to teach children about safety.

River Hall Health and Safety Fair
Crime Prevention Month and Celebrate Safe Communities will be marked on Saturday, October 8,10:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at the Town Hall Amenity Center. Organizers will partner with the Lee County Sheriffs' Department and the Lee Memorial Health System to reach out to residents of the surrounding community and provide information about health and safety programs.
