National Crime Prevention Council Joins DHS Secretary
Janet Napolitano to Discuss Cybersecurity at NASDAQ
NCPC President Ann M. Harkins and others Participate in a Cybersecurity Stakeholders Breakfast
Arlington, VA – This morning National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) President and CEO, Ann M. Harkins, will meet with U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and other industry, nonprofit, and government colleagues during a Cybersecurity Stakeholders Breakfast at NASDAQ headquarters. Today Harkins and key meeting attendees will discuss cybersecurity issues directly with Secretary Napolitano over breakfast.
The event is part of the observances for Cybersecurity Month coordinated by the Department of Homeland Security. Following the breakfast meeting, the participants will join the Secretary in the NASDAQ tower to participate in the Opening Bell Ceremony.
“Most of us do not realize how often our everyday Internet and other electronic activities put us at risk,” said Ann M. Harkins, NCPC President and CEO. “Partnering with the Department of Homeland Security on cybersecurity awareness is the perfect complement to National Crime Prevention Month which NCPC celebrates every October to highlight prevention and public safety efforts nationwide and to ask every citizen to renew or join the commitment to help “Take A Bite Out Of Crime®.”
